The 150-F201NBD implements control through a variety of inherent control methods such as Soft Start, Full Voltage Start, Smart Motor Braking, Current Limit Start, Dual Ramp Start, Accu-Stop, Selectable Kickstart, Pump Start, Slow Speed with Braking, Coast-to-rest, Preset Slow Speed, Linear Speed Acceleration (Tachometer required), Soft Stop and Pump Stop. Overall, this motor is able to implement Nine (9) start and stop modes which include Three (3) slow-speed modes.
The 150-201NBD comes with built-in electronic motor overload protection, a Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) bypass / run contactor. For configuration and setup, this controller comes with Front keypad with backlit LCD display. This integrate display is also used for monitoring the device operation as well as for troubleshooting. Additionally, an optional 20-HIM-A module can be connected to the built-in DPI port. Aside from this hardware based configuration components, the 150-201NBD may be configured using the Connected Components Workbench (CCW).
The pump control feature of this motor can be used to minimize fluid surges in centrifugal pumping applications when the pump is started and stopped. The 150-201NBD offers adjustable starting time is from 0-30 seconds while stopping time is adjustable from 0-120 seconds.
The 150-201NBD comes with internal protection and diagnostic capabilities such as Power loss, line fault, voltage unbalance, excessive starts/hour, phase reversal, undervoltage, overvoltage, controller temp, stall, jam, open gate, overload, underload, communication fault.
The 150-F201NBD has passed stringent compliance standards and it has certifications that include the EN/IEC 60947-4-2, the CE Mark in accordance with the EMC Directive and the Low Voltage Directive, the UL 508, and the cULus Listing. The Flex Smart Motor Controller offers various modes of operation. The first one is the soft start, which is the most common starting method for general applications. The motor starts at a specified torque setting. The output voltage to the motor increases during the acceleration ramp time. Another feature of the 150-F201NBD is the selectable kick-start. This start feature offers a boost during the startup to jump start loads that might need a pulse of high torque to start. Its purpose is to provide a current pulse for a specific timespan. The 150-F201NBD also comes with a current limit start method. The operators can adjust the starting current as well as the current limit starting time by using this method. When the application requires varying loads, start times, and levels of starting torque, then the operators can choose a dual ramp start. It allows the operator to choose from 2 start profiles with different initial torque settings and ramp times. The 150-F201NBD also has a full voltage start option that is ideal for applications that require across-the-line starting. The smart motor controller can be programmed to provide a full voltage at the startup. With this setting, the system achieves the output voltage it needs in a quarter of a second. It also has a linear speed acceleration mode that maintains the acceleration of the motor at a constant rate. The users can install a tachometer on the motor to provide a feedback signal to the controller. Applications that require a slow speed at the start can benefit from the controller’s preset slow speed mode. The users can set it at low or high speed. The users can also program the 150-F201NBD for reverse operation. Lastly, there is a soft stop mode that is applicable to applications that need an extended stop time. The users can set the voltage ramp downtime between 0 seconds and 120 seconds. The load stops when the voltage reaches a set load torque that is higher than the rated motor torque.
